The initiative and the idea of IUM have emerged through a definite need and wishes from active professionals worldwide.

 

IUM is a professional association and is open to all occupational Makeup artists and hairstylists on the field of aesthetics. IUM's ambition is that all makeup artists, hair stylists and hairdressers with approved vocational training should be able to agree in a single international union.

 

What do we want to achieve with IUM?

 

Help newly graduated makeup artists, hairstylists and hairdressers with questions concerning, employment, salaries, starting a business, insurance, financial matters and in general practical pieces of advice. 

Organise mentors for newly graduated and experienced beauty stylists and professional teachers.

IUM will not have a practical or theoretical entrance exam/degree for membership - on the other hand, IUM will become acquainted with the various programs available on the market, to assess the membership application.

Create a working group ("section") per occupational category who will meet and discuss its area of activity, what is happening within it and proposes promotional activities for the members.

Create a communication between the professions - through newsletters via the Association to the members.

Provide advice and provide support to members in stressful situations.
Organise presentations and skills-seeking further education through providers.

Arrange fairs and workshops.

The department will help create opportunities for increased goals and achievements in activities such as fashion, trend and SFX artistry as well as hair and makeup design. Responsible for and supporting quality work and skills development.

The department monitors and evaluates the results of operations and provides support for development efforts. Executes supervision of independent activities and conducts control of member activities focusing on improvement areas.

Responsibility for composite samples for the makeup artist.

Within the department, there is competence as well as competence in the field of education.

 

Hairstylist/ Hair dressing
The department will help create opportunities for increased goal achievement in activities such as fashion and trend stylist as well as hair and makeup stylist. Responsible for and supporting quality work and skills development.
