MIST Creative Makeup Competition 2026
Theme: Space Age Glam - Futuristic, Metallic, Intergalactic Beauty
Hosted by: Make Up Institute Stockholm in Collaboration with IUM

★ Step into the Future Through Makeup
Step beyond Earth and into the Future. On May 17th, Make Up Institute Stockholm will transform into a vision of tomorrow, where glammour is shaped by innovation, light, and the mystery of the cosmos.
In the Space Age, beauty is redefined. Skin appears luminous and celestial; finishes are metallic, chrome, and glass-like, and colors reflect starlight, nebulae, and distant galaxies. This is glamour influenced by advanced technology and infinite space - sleek, powerful, and unapologetically bold.
Your challenge: create a Space Age Glam look that feels futuristic, high-fashion, and visionary. Think polished and enhanced, yet experimental. Choose one striking element that pushes the look into the future: mirror-like metallic eyes, holographic pigments, sculpted graphic liners, cosmic crystal details, or a chrome lip that looks forged beyond Earth.
Picture a fashion icon stepping into an intergalactic couture summit - elegant, commanding, and light-years ahead of her time. Your look should feel advanced, radiant, and unforgettable, where glamour meets the unknown and beauty has no gravity.
★ Competition Theme: Space Age Glam
Your look should tell the story of luxury and extravagance.
We want to see:

Makeup as the main focus (minimum 60% of the overall look)

One bold creative element that enhances the glam, detailed eye design, unusual lips, metallics, crystals, or another bold feature that elevates the glam

Hairstyle or headpiece that supports the Futuristic mood and enhances the makeup
-
Outfit or styling that completes the vision, giving the impression of an Intergalactic Beauty walking into a cosmic ball
The jury will judge the full impression, from makeup to styling, but remember, this is not fantasy or SFX. It is glamour, refinement, and creativity combined.
★ Competition Guidelines

Makeup Focus: At least 60% of the look must be makeup. Strong, polished execution is expected.

Makeup Application Rule: All makeup must be applied only on the model. Contestants may not apply makeup on themselves as part of the competition look.

Full Look Required: Hairstyling or a crafted headpiece is mandatory. Outfit and accessories should be carefully chosen to enhance the Space Age Glam theme.

Theme Direction: The look must clearly reflect Space Age Glam, luxury, boldness, and a celestial elegance with a creative twist.

Preparation: Hair/headpieces and costumes may be prepared in advance, but all makeup must be completed during the competition.

Time Limit: Contestants will have 4 hours to complete their look.
★ Event Schedule

⏱ 09:30 – 10:00: Contestants arrive and prepare their workspace

⏱ 10:00 – 14:00: Competition time, 4 hours to create your Space Age Glam look

⏱ 14:00 – 14:30: Judging & presentations, each participant presents their model and explains the inspiration
-
⏱ 14:30 – 15:00: Red Carpet Event, competitors and their models will showcase their Space Age Glam creations in a glamorous red-carpet walk, photographed and filmed for media coverage. Guests, friends, and family are welcome.

⏱ 15:00: Winners announced: The MIST Creative Makeup Award and the Audience Choice Award will be presented, along with trophies and a professional photoshoot for the winners.
